Shimmerz, gold, floral and stripes :)

Hi everyone!

I don't often scrap the hubby and I, always seem to be behind the lens and he always seems to avoid me when I have the camera out!  So that is why taking a selfie is the easiest way to grab a quick photo of the two of us :)

I am really loving the trend of a floral paper teamed with a black and white stripe pattern.  I opted for the look here and just had to add in all of the gorgeous gold.

Shimmerz products :

Vibez in Before Dawn and 24 Caret
Spritz in Ruby
Inklingz in Beets Me, Good as Gold and Giddy About Green

"I love you"

I used Shimmerz colours to compliment the papers.

I let the Beets Me Inklingz dribble down the page here......such a pretty colour this one!

I applied a stencil with Modelling Paste and then sprayed the Vibez 24 Caret and Spritz Ruby.
I then added more of the Inklingz to blend in with these colours.

I took the nozzle off and flicked Before Dawn to certain areas of my page.

I added more gold to the vellum and on the stripe paper.

I stamped some butterflies with black ink and them coloured them with some of the Inklingz products.

I have added Inklingz in Good As Gold to the tips of the floral embellishments.

Love these Inklingz, they are so addictive :)

Thankyou for visiting today!  So busy atm, lots going on.....we get our new puppy tomorrow!  Everyone is excited :)
Take care.

Cute Cards

Hi there, just stopping by with some quick cards I have made over the past month or so.

These first 2 are just happy cards and I have tested out some of the new Inklingz products on them.
I have used French Twist and I'm Not Limon in the first.

"Smile"

A resin frame and some pretty flowers.

A sweet little butterfly hugs card.
Love the pastel colours here!!

While I was away on holidays a couple of weeks ago, I managed to create a set of baby cards, using the Hello World collection from Websters pages.  Super cute range and these are actually so much cuter irl!!

Something unisex :)  I think this one is my fave....oh I don't know, I can't decide!!

I used the Hello Heidi Swapp stencil under the frame in this one!
Lots of layering and how cute is the elephant paperclip.

This is my girly one.......
I have added a Prima resin frame here with some Hambly onesie's!

I hope they have inspired you to make some yourself......great for using up those scraps of paper.

I would love to hear which one is your favourite!

Thanks for dropping in,
have a wonderful weekend.

Do Small Things With Great Love

Hi guys, just stopping in to share one of my Shimmerz creation's for this month.  I have created a canvas size 12 x 12, something I can hang in my new scraproom.

Here are my Shimmerz products used:

Inklingz in Beets Me, Sunkissed, Blue My Mind and Giddy About Green
Texturez in Gold Mine
Vibez in Jeni B Bleu and Hermit the Frog

"Do Small Things With Great Love"

I have applied the Inklingz in Beets Me and Sunkissed here at the top of the canvas.  Whilst it was still a little wet I scraped (with chipboard card) some Gold Mine Texturez through the Inklingz, I really love the effect and the colours blended together are divine!!

I sprayed the Resin with some Jeni B Bleu along with applying a little Inklingz in Blue My Mind.

I painted some hearts with the Blue My Mind Inklingz, just love that 2 toned effect, the gold with the turquoise outline.

I used a crackle stencil on the background with modelling paste and allowed the Inklingz to run into the textured areas.

I have sprayed Hermit the Frog Vibez in between the framed area to add a little more green into the canvas to match the green leaves and lime flower.

Here are some more painted hearts finished off with some SIIC from Prima.

Visit the store here to find out more about the Inklingz and to purchase your very own.  Inklingz are now also available at The Color Room in Australia.  Contact Lydell Quinn here :)

I hope you enjoyed my canvas today.
Have a wonderful weekend xo

OUAS and POP & Colours #3

Hello!  The second DT reveal has gone live over at Once Upon A Sketch, make sure you go and check out the wonderful inspiration!

Journalling Theme: "Numbers.."

Pick a number and center your journalling around it. (i.e. FIVE men in my life, TEN quirky traits, THREE long term goals, or 2014--the date I will do)

You are free to interpret our theme ANY WAY you like. It is for your inspiration and this theme word DOES NOT need to be part of your title or journalling. But please make sure your layout is based on the sketch below and includes journalling (hidden journalling is fine). Acceptable journalling is MORE than just a sentence, or generic writing such as date/place etc. It needs to be present and at least 3 lines long. Remember, hidden journalling (under a photo/tag or behind your page) is perfectly fine but please DO let us know in your post where your journalling is!

Here is the sketch by Nadia :)

And here is my take on the sketch -

I loved writing down all of these little notes about Mason, I was reading through some old scrapbooks of the big boys and it's awesome to read back on this stuff!!  They just grow up way too quick.

I went for a real 'Boy' layout using lots of mixed media, stars, rocket ships, straws, string, stamps and some doodling....not a flower in sight :)

I love the star stencil by Balzer Designs.  I applied modelling paste to it and then applied my Shimmerz details.

Lots of layers and some cute frames.  I even used a couple of 2 Crafty Chipboard stars.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am so so happy to announce I will be apart of POP and COLOURS #3.  Look at this talented line up of amazing artists.....so honoured to be picked in this bunch :)
So make sure you sign up...there will be loads of fun and mixed media techniques!!

You can find more details

Thanks for stopping by today, I must go pick up the boys now, back to school from our little break.....but more to share soon :) :)

2 Crafty for July

Hello!  I can't believe we are in July all ready, half the year over........
Hope you are having a lovely week, we are in full swing with school holidays here,
enjoying our time together!!

My first layout today is something a little beachy and full of pretty pastels.

"Our Happy Place"

2Crafty chipboard pieces I used:
Small Crazy Circle Panel
Happy loopy font
Frame Lucy's Flourish

I used the Happy Loopy Font as part of my title, I just adore all of the loopy fonts.
I applied some Gesso to it first (as I do with most pieces) and then I added some
new Shimmerz Inklingz products to it.  Inklingz are solid watercolours, I have just
blended a few colours into each other.  Love the effect here on the title word.

I adhered the Frame Lucy's Flourish around the subject in my photo.  I layered some
flowers around it and applied the Shimmerz Inklingz in Giddy about Green to the
tips of the flourishes and around the circle section.

I cut the Small Crazy Circle Panel  into several pieces and added them to the layers
around the page.  I have applied Inklingz to these also in Blue My Mind and
Giddy About Green.

I have used some of the new Shimmerz products Inklingz on this layout also.  They were, Giddy About Green, French Twist, Blue My Mind and Sunkissed.  These four colours are definitely some of my favourites.

In the photo below you can see the Sunkissed Inklingz....a gorgeous peachy, apricot colour.

Above you can see the gold Shimmer through the French Twist and Blue my Mind Inklingz which belong to the gold collection.

My second layout today is one of my boys and I on Easter Sunday.  I drew bunny faces
on us and my middle son insisted he did his own....too funny!!

"Too Fun"

2 Crafty chipboard used on this layout:
Formal Flourish 1
Frame Ingrid's
Mixed Buttons
Frame Vintage Oval
Vintage Keys
I have layered the Vintage Key on top of the straw.  I applied Gesso to it and then rubbed
the outline with a gold ink pad.  I placed the cabochon flower in the centre and the
vellum hearts along it.

I added some Shimmerz Dimensionz in the colour Pearly Gates.  The puffy paint gave
the delicate frames instant dimension.  I used this on all 3 frames, Formal Flourish 1,
Frames Ingrid and Frame Vintage Oval.

I then sprayed random sections of the frames with some Shimmerz Vibez (covering my photo).

I cut the Frame Vintage Oval in half before layering it to the left of the layout
with some flowers.
I placed a few buttons on the layout and coated them in Gesso before
rubbing the gold  ink over them also.

Thanks for popping in, I really appreciate your kind comments.
Take care xo
