Happy Friday :)

Hi!!!  I thought I would pop by with a couple of things today.  So last weekend I managed to create something for a challenge.  I don't ever seem to have the time to do challenges but this one I just had to do.  This months sketch at Scrapfriends is just awesome!!!  Wow, who doesn't love feathers atm??  Thanks for the inspiration Scrapfriends, I have always been a lover of your sketches, happy to say I have done one now :)

So here is my layout.  I have used some Glitz, AC and Crate here.  Plus some gorgeous 2 crafty chipboard.  I added a little more to the sketch to eliminate the white space, you know me, I just can't do white space!!!  I just adore this amazing gals work and have always wanted to make a big arrow like Miss Wally so thought this was a perfect layout to do it on!!!

"Piggy Back Ride"

I loved the stickers out of the Glitz collection Wild and Free.  I even loved the subtle amount of pink in it.  I added a little pink with my Shimmerz pots and think this layout is far from being girly even though I used pink.  Just a little hint and it looks super cool on a boys layout!

I used some Feathers from 2 Crafty Chipboard.  They are so so awesome, can't get enough!  Plus some diecut feathers from Studio Calico.   I also bought some white feathers from a $2 shop and dipped them in gold glitter!!!

I placed one of the arrow stickers from the Wild and Free sticker sheet on the wood clip.

More gold dipped feathers.......

I wrapped the feathers around a skewer stick with twine and then continued to wrap the twine the full length of the stick.  Layered washi tape, stamping and masking.  Plus loads of paper layers under my photo.

Lots of Shimmerz work underneath there.........

Secondly today, I have a new canvas to share using Shimmerz.  Here are the products I used:

Texturez in Sandy Stone
Enamelz in Gold Digger
Spritz in Carribean Sunset and Mango Madness
Vibez in Egg Noggin and Before Dawn
Shimmerz in Coal, Candle Light and Island Salsa

I really love this saying, its just a perfect reminder to us all, to have more patience and to be kinder than necessary!

"Love is Patient, Love is Kind"

I have used lots of Prima and look there are those gold dipped feathers.....addicted much??? Plus I have used a 2Crafty chipboard birdcage :)

I used a brick pathway as my background mask with modelling paste.

All of these Shimmerz products together are just gorgeous and then add a touch of black to add some depth.  You can even see the colour on the feathers.

So has anyone had a chance to get their hands on these new goodies from Shimmerz yet?  I have only just received them myself and hoping to have my first play with them in the next few days!!!!  They look fantastic and omg Blue Lagoon is just gorgeous!  I think it will be my fave :)

Also if you mention my name in the comments section whilst at checkout you will receive one FREE bottle of the new DIMENSIONZ!!!!!!  How cool is that, just by mentioning my name (or any Shimmerz Designer for that matter) :)

Explore

Evening everyone!  Just stopping by with my last creation as Guest Creative at Maja Designs last month.  I used the Crea Diem collection and this time creating a beach themed layout.  The papers were all fairly neutral meaning I could add lots of my fave colours to it.  I did love how the b/w paper matched the rocks in my picture though.  I always try to match my pictures to my colours of my layout, that is always intentional :)  or maybe I just dress my subjects in colours I like to scrap with too....lol!!!

"Explore"

Lots of Shimmerz and mixed media work.  Gesso, stencil then mist......seems to be the routine for now :)

Some paper tearing and Enamel dots.

Lots of shells too, I love that these shells are always off the beach at Elliott!  They are so gorgeous down there, always have lots of texture to them and holes!  I also added some Sinamay and Cheesecloth.

Okay that is it for today, I have a fun day tomorrow, Melbourne Cup day at Kindy!!!  I can't wait for my fascinator to be made by the kids :)

First up are some cards I made with the Studio Calico Atlantic collection.  Here I was focusing on Brads and Enamel dots.

Second collection today is using the Glitz collection Finnley.  This time focusing on the Ephemera.
This little man was so very proud to earn his first ribbon on sports day!!

Another project using the same collection.  I created a set of canvases.
Just love this alphabet card!!!!

Lastly today I got to play with the gorgeous Dear Lizzy collection "Polka Dot Party"!!
This week the focus was on Wood Veneer.  I covered all my wood veneer with chunky gold glitter :)  I really enjoyed these wood pieces as they are larger than your usual wood veneer.  The colours of this collection are gorgeous, right on trend!!  Really adore this layout.

Maja Designs

Hi!!!!  My first layout to share today is using the collection Vintage Summer Basics.   I opted to create something girly for a change.  I love that these collections cater for everyone!!  This is my sweet little niece who just turned 4 back in August.  She had her face painted at her party and I snapped this adorable picture of her.  These papers are gorgeous, fit for any little princess.

These butterflies are from 2 Crafty chipboard, they are gorgeous!!

Pretty Prima flowers and trinkets.

Here I would like to share a really quick run down on my process for this layout.  I started out with my background paper and scraped some Gesso on it to whitewash the flower print.  I did this only on the section were I planned my embellishments to go.  I didn’t want to cover too much of the print as it is so stunning!

Using a mask and texture paste I applied the mask down the centre of the page.  Then I sprayed some Shimmerz mists to the masked area. Also taking the lid off to add flickers of paint.

I then applied my photo mat to the centre of my page.  I distressed coordinating papers at different sizes and layered them along with some calico material and string/twine.

My next layers consisted of some transparency and then I used foam tape to attach the photo to the centre.  Once this was in place it was then ready to embellish with all of the pretty flowers and trinkets.

My second project today is a Mini Wishing Well.  I asked my best friend what she would like for her birthday and she said “Make me something”!!  So this is what I come up with………now to get it all the way over the other side of the country!!

I have also used the Vintage Summer Basic collection.  This time using the blue and grey papers.  I just loved this weatherboard paper and it was a perfect fit with this wishing well!
I just cut the papers to fit the sides and adhered.  I then used some texture paste and paint to add some colour to the grey.

My third creation today is a layout featuring the collection "It's Christmas Time"

I chose to create with a red, white and gold colour palette.  I picked out a cute pic of the boys from our 2012 Christmas shoot…….it’s almost time to do it all again!!!  I really enjoyed working with this Christmas collection, it’s subtle, gorgeous and truly festive!

"Love & Joy"

Just some closeups of the details for you:

Lots of glitter, sequins and Shimmerz were added.

I hope you have enjoyed my Maja creations, I have one more post going up on the Maja blog this weekend.
Have a great day, thanks for visiting xo
