A New Design Team

Happy Monday everyone!!!  You may not have heard yet, but I made my debut on the Pink Paislee blog last Friday!!!!!  I am the newest addition to the team and that is so exciting for me:)  I am a big fan of PP and was totally shocked to see an email from them to join the team!  With an extra bonus I also get to work with the gorgeous Heidi Swapp products aswell.....how lucky am I???  So happy to be on this team!

Here is my first project for Pink Paislee.  They have been having a blog hop all week with Basically Bare.  Head over to the blog and leave a comment for your chance to win some Pink Paislee and Basically Bare products + check out all the great ideas from the rest of the week.

"Soar"

I created a picket fence out of the chipboard I received to match the fence in the picture.

The felt clouds were perfect with this range, Prairie Hill, and I knew I wanted my kites to be flying above with them:)  Made my own aswell out of the papers and used the chipboard pops too.  Loved these!

Here is another project I created using Pink Paislee.  It's a mixture of Soiree and my faves, Spring Jubilee and the Mistables.

"Loving the Bubba Chub"

Oh look, another banner....surprise!!!

Okay, lots to do, will be back soon with more to share........it's also getting closer to another announcement from me:):)

It's a big one!

My post that is!!  I hope you are all having a great week, I have lots to share today:)
My first layout is for my Shimmerz post this week.  I absolutely had a ball making this.......the colours turned out amazing, gosh I love colour!!!  My 3 little men and their little feet, I used a b/w photo so I could go crazy with the colour without it clashing with the photo!

Here are the Shimmerz products used to create the layout -
Vibez in Before Dawn
Coloringz in Mandarin Mai Tai, Lime In da Coconut and Heidi Ho Blue
Shimmerz in Key Lime and Marigold.

"Little Feet"

Splatter some Shimmerz on your picture, it's fun and I love the way it dries:)

Blending the colours into each other to make even more gorgeous colour!  Just spray on top of each other.......

Prima's mid release Doodle Deux is sooooo awesome!!  I love it, love the different colour combo and all the cut out pieces:)  It's a very cute, whimsical line.  Here is what I created using it.....how great does my picture match the colour scheme, I just had to throw in my usual aqua:)

"Cutie Pirates"

Just love a banner!!!!  Layered of course!

My next layout features more of the My Minds Eye range Follow your Heart.  I also used more gorgeous Scrapmatts chipboards, the Penny Farthing, the Lamp posts and my title word.

"Moments"

If you haven't noticed I am very much addicted to washi tape atm!!!! LOVE it!!

I created this card aswell using Scrapmatts chipboards in Nautical designs and the Leaf Spray.

My last card today I created using the Sunday Picnic line from Webster's, I am yet to do a layout with this range.........hopefully soon I will get to:)

I hope you enjoyed all of my craftiness today.  I was going to share some news with you all but I will wait until the weekend when it gets announced on their blog:):):):)

I would just like to share a few photos from our little Easter Break down at Elliott Heads.  This picture means the world to me.......Kobi hasn't been a fan of the beach, he would scream at the sight and sound of a tiny wave and this weekend he was a total different child!!!  He splashed and jumped in, he laughed......it made me smile from ear to ear!!!  So proud of him!

Ummm, my attempt of a nice picture of the 3 of them.......it's always just one child not wanting to cooperate, this time it was Mason!  Hehe love it anyways!

Coop's totally in his own little world, how cool is the old weathered fence!

By this stage Mason was happy enough to sit and pull cute faces at me.......Kobi's turn to not want photos...lol!!!

Easter Sunday rolled around and the bunny was a little too generous this year......Mase pretty stoked with his first taste of chocolate!!!!

The boys finding all the eggs we had hidden for them.  We even did a second egg hunt, Coop's wanted us to hide all the eggs he had already received.........gotta love them, it's just so much fun finding them again!!

And lastly another of bubs.  He is over 10 months now and his first birthday is fast approaching.  Is that hard to believe or what????  He has got 4 toothy pegs and cruises around on everything....quickest crawler we've had!!!  He puts everything in his mouth......ick!!!!  So this mummy is busy busy:)

Wow, this seems a long post......I'm sure it's not so bad, just took me forever to write it up in between tending to the kidlets, they are all tucked up in bed now and Tim is out for a work dinner so I might go get a little creative.  Oh yeah, did you notice my blog change......I struggled to find something that didn't clash with every creation I make!!!
Thanks so much for your visit, hugs to you all, back again soon xo

Prima catch up:)

Hope you all had a wonderful Easter.  We had a lovely little trip away and the Easter Bunny spoilt us!  Just thought I would pop by with some new Prima projects that have been shared on the blog already.  The first one is an altered shadow box.  I used an old Prima tin I had laying around and embellished my little heart out!!  I added the little resin shutters to the side to make it look like a window sill, how cute:)

Look at the super cute nest in there:)

Next up is the Build A Page for April.  Here is the sketch:)

And here is my take on the sketch.  I used the Doodle Deux collection which is soon to be released.....it's such a fun, bright line:)

Canvas piece + tutorial

Hello, I want to share a canvas today that I made with Shimmerz, Scrapmatts chipboards and of course a touch of Prima!!  This piece was a really quick one for me and just a nice size of 12 x 12 inch:) It's definately one for the wall!

Here are the Shimmerz colours I used:

Coloringz in Lime in Da Coconut and Mama Sings the Blues
Blingz in Ginchy Green
Pearlz in Blue By U and Powder Puff
Vibez in Hermit the Frog, Jeni B Bleu and Before Dawn

and the Scrapmatts:
CB1077 Bird Cages 03
 CB5089 Ferns 02
CB1134 Assorted Words 01

Live, Life, Love

I also want to share with you my process of creating this piece.

1.  Firstly I applied Gesso to the whole background using an hold piece of cardboard.  Not being particular I changed up the direction of the cardboard strokes aswell.  Allow some sections to be thicker too.  I then tore a square piece of Calico material about 15 cm long.  Ripping the calico gives the edges a nice shabby look.  I applied Gesso to the Calico.  Now the fun begins with misting.  I started from the top section and worked my way down allowing the Shimmerz to run down the canvas.

2. I added another 2 pieces of Calico to the top right hand corner and the bottom section of the canvas.  I also applied more Shimmerz and blended the colours together by letting them run into each other.

3.  I now started to apply my embellishments.  Starting with the Ferns I applied a white dabber to them to take away the craft look.  I didn't do this to thick, just a subtle undercoat for my next layers of Shimmerz.  I adhered them to the canvas overlaping each other.

4. Adding to the cluster I placed my Prima flowers and Metal Birdcage into position.

5.  Using tiny foam pieces I applied the Scrapmatts birdcages, layering them over the other embellishments.  I placed the words down the canvas too and added Shimmerz Pearlz to highlight.

6.  I added Prima paper butterflies all over the top of the canvas (and the bottom) giving them direction so it looked like they were jumping out of the centre cluster.  I misted some more and highlighted all of the flowers with Gesso.  Using a paintbrush I brushed along the edges of the flowers and dabbed Pearlz to give extra colour and shine.  Using Blingz and Pearlz in Grinchy Green and Blue By U I coloured in the tips of the fern leaves.  I wanted it to look more blended so  I added some more Pearlz in white to wash out some of the colour.

Here is a closeup of the ferns and flowers.

There you have it, a pretty piece for the wall:)
I hope you enjoyed my tutorial to day, go on, go get messy!!!

Hugs xo
