Enjoy Everyday - PLS

Hi there!  We are back from a week away at our holiday house and now I am playing catch up.  I have had a new creation shared on the Pretty Little Studio Blog featuring journaling cards.

I have used the gorgeous Marigold Collection for this creation.  My focus today was on journaling cards so I wanted them to feature and stand out in my creation.  I have used 2 Journaling Cards from the Foxglove pack.  The foxes in this entire collection are just too cute and fitted perfectly with my story.

"Enjoy Everyday"

I chose the card with the most amount of room for me to write on.  I layered this to one side of my photo and I placed the patterned journal card to the left.  I really loved the contrasting patterns in this and didn’t want to cover it up.

I also tucked in another journaling card from the Hollyhock pack amongst my paper layers under my photo.   I loved the fact the journaling cards are packaged as single cards so I only had to pull out what I wanted and distressed the edges.

Of course I used lots of little extras here such as the Butterfly diecuts, flair button, flags and gold foiled butterflies and words.

A few Prima flowers and lots of Shimmerz goodness to finish off :)

Have a great afternoon, thanks for stopping by xo

More 2 Crafty and OUAS

Hello :)

My first creation today is another 2 Crafty share.
I have scrapped a photo of the 5 of us.  It is the worst, out of focus, grainy picture
from my iphone but I just love it and had to scrap it!!!!   I don't often use black
on my layouts but seeing as my photo was black and white I thought it would
work well to add some black ink and washi tape.

Here are the gorgeous 2 Crafty pieces I used:

My Happy Place
Corner Rachel's
Elegant Hearts
Corner Tiny Edwin
Butterflies

"My Happy Place"

I have added a Corner Tiny Edwin to the bottom right hand side of my layout.
I have coated it with Gesso and then using my finger I applied some Rub 'n' Buff
in Antique Gold to the edges.

I have scattered some Butterflies around the layout in 2 different sizes.  I have applied
Gesso to them and when they were dried I added a Prima script stamp with black ink.

Lots of mixed media work and I also used a few new Prima flowers and paper from the Epiphany collection.  I love that you can add any colour to this collection......in this case I have added a rainbow :)

A second Corner Tiny Edwin was placed on the photos corner.  I just dabbed
some Gesso on here.  I also placed the Corner Rachel's under the paper layers.
I then added some Rub 'n' Buff.

I really loved this title, love the font and the way it goes down the page.
I applied Gesso to it to make it pop from the background colour.
I adhered it onto some of my flowers and leaves to give it dimension.

I have added a Elegant Heart here above some of my mixed media background.
I painted it with black paint to tie in with the rest of the black elements.
I added some more stamping (with white paint) to the background and love
the effect it gave on the heart.

Once Upon a Sketch - September

Journalling Theme: Open theme...with a twist
For this month's challenge, you can scrap about any theme BUT you need to include your own handwritten journalling on your page!

You are free to interpret our theme ANY WAY you like. Whilst the theme is open, you MUST base it on the sketch below and include your HANDWRITTEN journalling ON YOUR PAGE. Acceptable journalling is MORE than just a sentence, or generic writing such as date/place etc. It needs to be present and at least 3 lines long

Here is my take on the September sketch:

"Precious"

I have also used a couple of 2 Crafty pieces here.

I absolutely love the colours in this layout.  I have used papers and vellum by Websters Pages from the Ocean Melody and Strawberry Fields collections.

I applied Shimmerz Dazzlerz in Pucker Up Pink to my background instead of using my usual Gesso!  I really love the colour and love the effect of it after scraping it on with a piece of cardboard.

I hope you get to play along this month, still plenty of time to get your entry in.  Here is the Link to the Once Upon a Sketch page.

Hope you have a fantastic day!!

Cherish - 2 Crafty

Hi crafty people!  I have a new 2 Crafty Chipboard creation to share today.  My September post went live on their blog over the weekend.

My first creation  I had so much fun creating!
It is so fun and I used lots of fun chippies too!

Here are the 2 Crafty Chipboard pieces I have used here:

Corner Evie
Mixed Buttons
Bambi
Frame Cherish
Frame's Tiny Henri's

"Cherish"

I cut the Frame Cherish on the diagonal and placed the Cherish word over my photo
in amongst my other layers.  I covered my photo and allowed the Shimmerz
mist to colour the right side of the frame.

Aww, Bambi is just the cutest!  I used a similar technique as I did the last time
I created with Bambi but this time I added black watercolour pencil to
really give her dimension.

You can also see tucked in there just above Bambi, a Frame Tiny Henri's
I painted this with Shimmerz product, Sour Apple Dazzlerz.

I have layered some Mixed Buttons with foam tape and applied some
Zazz glitter glue in the colour Squash.
The Corner Evie was the perfect piece to add to my layers here.  I covered
it with Gesso and then sprayed with Shimmerz when the piece was in place.

I placed the other part to the frame on the left hand side of the photo mat.
I added some stokes of black and brown watercolour to match with the Bambi.

Here are just a few more shots of the detail and layers.
I used Pretty Little Studio flair button fox along with the diecut fawn :)

And of course some pretty Prima flowers.

Have a wonderful day xo

Card Share + my scrap space

Hi there! I have a couple of cards to share today.

The first one using lots of layers and the gorgeous Webster's pages Vellum on the bottom there.  I also layered some Crate Paper bits and a few sequins, Prima flower and some spots of Shimmerz Inklingz.

The second card a little girly one for my niece.  I have used Crate Paper here with some Prima flowers.

So you may or may have not known a few months ago now, my wonderful husband, decked out a new scraproom for me.  I thought I would share some photos with you all of my space.

I certainly love retreating to my little room of pretties (as I like to call it)!  With a house full of boys its the one place I can have flowers everywhere....lol!!!
I hope you enjoy!!!

I bought this shelf from a Newsagent!  It's gorgeous and perfect for all of my little jars and bowls.

I bought the 4 x 2 cabinet at Bunnings and flipped it on the side.  Fits lots of baskets etc but I am still on the hunt for more storage items.

I bought the white newspaper rack from The Reject Shop and thought it would be perfect for all of my paper pads.
Tim also added steel racks for me to hang things off  (I had these in my old room).

My Create letters I bought from TYPO.....my gosh, I love that shop :)

Look at my mountain of Shimmerz....yummo!!  Can't get enough!  I bought the corner shabby shelves from a homewares store for half price.

Some of my mediums!  Pen and tool holders from Typo.

I have a 3 tier rack for Washi tapes, threads and twine.  Glass jars for Resin pieces.

I bought these 2 big jars from The Reject Shop for $8 each and throw all of my misc flowers in there.  One for blue, turquoise, lime and purple, the other for yellow, orange, pink and red :)

Here is the reflection from my mirror.  I absolutely love my Magnetic board and shadow box from DWBH Homewares.  You can spy my Ikea trolley in there too......everyone's got to have one of those ;)

Last picture today of my paper rack!  So I am pretty pleased with the job he did, building all of these shelves and cupboards for me.  He did really well!

I am still not finished decorating, not sure I ever will be but there you go, here is my crafty haven!!!

Until next time, thanks for stopping by.

Baby Jack collection - PLS

Hi!!  I am stopping by today to share with you my introduction piece that was shared over on the Pretty Little Studio blog last week.  I have used the utterly adorable Baby Jack Collection!

Here is the list I used from this collection:

3×4 Pocket Card, Tabs, Word Art, Diecuts, Flair, Feathers, Confetti, Word Stickers, Polaroid Tags, Pattern Paper, Paper Ribbons, Bunting Flags.

"I Love You to the Moon & Back"

The Baby Jack collection is so adorable, I have 3 boys so I think this collection might get a workout from me.   I love the colours in the collection and really played on the mint and kraft hues for my layout.  The Baby Jacob die cut was the cutest accent to add to my layers, like he is dreaming about all the adventures he may have.

I chose a photo of my then 2 year old having a little nap,  I thought the 4 x 6 journaling card “I love you to the moon and back” matched perfectly.  I wanted this to be a focus of my layout so I opted to add it to the left of my page and in turn I built up those layers under and around my photo.

Using the Baby Jack Wood Faux Feather die cuts, I layered two of these together, attached them to a skewer stick to create an arrow.

I scattered the star confetti around the page and applied with foam tape.

It's just a fun game of finding as many cute PLS products you can within my work!

Thankyou for visiting today, I always appreciate your kind comments!!!
Hugs xo
