Something shabby tonight :)

Good evening to you all!  I am stopping by tonight with something shabby :)
This picture of my 2 little boys in front of our watertower at Elliott.  There is an old door there which is a cool backdrop for some photos.  Of course I was inspired by the blue in their flannels for the colour palette.

"Little Brothers Stick Together"

The chipboard clock frames are by 2 Crafty.  These just add a perfect amount of shabby into my layers.  I have just coated them in Gesso.

I have used Shimmerz products here also.  But I added a little water to them with my paintbrush.

I have layered my photo on top of some florist vine which I also coated in Gesso.
Some cheesecloth has also been added in there.

I have used loads of Prima goodies too.....flowers, resin, bark bits, SIIC and the clouds, how cute are they??

I hope you liked my layout today :)

I also wanted to let you all know that I have created a new facebook page for all of my crafty creations and all things scrapbooking!!  Feel free to like my page and follow the LINK here.

Until next time, thankyou for dropping by xoxo

New Inklingz

I have just popped this one up on the Shimmerz blog.

Hello!  I am so super excited to share a new creation today featuring the new Inklingz products.  Oh my, the colours are just delicious and fun!!!  I haven't picked a favourite yet, but these were the first ones I picked to create with so I'm thinking these might be the popular ones on my desk ;)

Here is my list of products used:

INKLINGZ in - Blue My Mind
I'm Not Limon
Good As Gold
Gosh Garnet
Sunkissed (actually thinking about it, this might just be my favourite - it's stunning)
  Beets Me
Giddy About Green

I also used:
Spritz in Mango Madness
Coloringz in Pink Stiletto

"Today"

I am not a huge user of cardstock, I generally use a patterned paper for my background but I thought this would be a great way to show off the new Inklingz products.

Using a mask and Modelling paste......allowing it to dry and then applying the Inklingz products.  I used a small paintbrush to dip in the water.

Here you can see I'm Not Limon, Gosh Garnet and Beets Me.

I wanted to try out all of these colours so I have have small amounts of each throughout my layout.  To the right of the straw you can see Sunkissed....it's a gorgeous apricot/coral colour.

I applied Beets Me Inklingz into the 'today' cutout.

Here you can see the shimmer from the Inklingz products.  Plus all of my layers.  I have also used some pretty 2 Crafty pieces.  I have used the following pieces here:

Feather
Frame's Tiny Henri's
Frame Olivia
Word Bubbles (fun)

Visit the store Here to purchase your new Inklingz :)  I am sure you will love them as much as I do!!!

Have a wonderful week xoxo

Once Upon A Sketch - June Reveal

Hello!!  If you haven't already had a chance to play along with this months Once Upon A Sketch challenge, there is still plenty of time to get your entry in.   I just want to share with you my DT layout for this months sketch.

Journalling Theme: The following quote

" the best things in life aren't things"

You are free to interpret our theme ANY WAY you like. It is for your inspiration and this theme word DOES NOT need to be part of your title or journalling. But please make sure your layout is based on the sketch below and includes journalling (hidden journalling is fine). Acceptable journalling is MORE than just a sentence, or generic writing such as date/place etc. It needs to be present and at least 3 lines long. Remember, hidden journalling (under a photo/tag or behind your page) is perfectly fine but please DO let us know in your post where your journalling is!

Here is my take on the above sketch and journaling criteria:

"Care"

The background paper I have used is from Crate Paper, Maggie Holmes.  I really love this doily paper, must get myself some more, it's fantastic for backgrounds :)

I have used Gesso, Modelling Paste, stencils and stamps and of course lots of Shimmerz.

Some beautiful Prima flowers and resins.  I have added a small amount of Gesso to the tips of my flowers also to shabby them up a little.

I have added in a couple of 2 Crafty Chipboard doily's to fit in with the paper and theme of the layout.

Using a small paintbrush I applied some water to my Shimmerz and stamping.  Love the effect........who doesn't love a little watercolour at the moment!

I really loved this colour palette, I am not a huge purple person but I like it here mixed with the turquoise and the apricot.  I placed all of the flowers in their colour groups which made the layout flow really nicely.

Oh, 2 of my sweet boys and I.  Love them all so much and it's true the best things in life aren't things, a simple cuddle or kiss makes me so warm and fuzzy inside, it's the best :) :)

I am officially in my new scrap room!!!  It's beautiful, still not quite finished but I'm here and creating in it :)  I will share some photos soon!

Hugs xoxo

Shimmerz - Rainbows

Hello!  Just popping by quickly with a Shimmerz creation which was posted on their blog this week.  I have used lots of gorgeous Prima and the following Shimmer products:

Spritz in Bed of Roses and Mango Madness
Vibez in Egg Noggin
Shimmerz in Key Lime

"Rainbows"

Here are a few closeups.  I have used a brick stencil with Modelling paste first up and then blended my mists together.  I love the way the mist takes to the Modelling paste.  I always spray straight away and never allow any time for the paste to dry.

I also covered the alphas with the Shimmerz and applied a little water to give it the water colour effect.

I have applied (with a small paint brush) the Shimmerz in Key Lime to the underneath side of the embellies.

I sprayed the Bed of Roses on the pebbles and under the flowers.  I love how the mist runs off these pebbles and then sits at its rim.

Even the resin pieces get a touch of Shimmerz.

I also layered some paper and twine to make kites.

If you haven't already heard Shimmerz have some fabulous, fun and stunning watercolours coming out soon.  They will be released by the end of the month and are called Inklingz.  I have the whole set and you are going to want to order them all too!!!  So many beautiful colours, they come in 3 different collections.

Goodnight xoxo

2 Crafty shares

Hi, I'm back again with my last 2 creations for 2 Crafty Chipboard for the month of May. Firstly I want to say that I have been asked to stay on at 2 Crafty for a wee bit longer yet, so I am super excited to get to play with these gorgeous chippies again for the next 6 months.  I can't wait to see all of the inspiration from the new team!

My first creation today being super girly and pretty, but has a beachy feel to it.

"Pretty Little Mermaid"

2 Crafty Chipboard used:
Leafy Twig Branches
2014's
Delicate Butterflies
Corner Rachel's
Pirate Treasure

I covered the Delicate Butterflies with Gesso and then added Shimmerz to them.   I used
some sprays along with the Dazzlerz products.  I layered them with foam tape and pulled
up the wings so they were 3 dimensional and popping off the page.

I have covered the Ship's Wheel from the Pirate Treasure set with Gesso and then
applied Modelling paste to it to give some texture.

I layered the Corner Rachel's piece into my floral and shell embellishments.  Once it
was in place, I applied Gesso to it.  I tried not to get any other mist on it as I wanted
it to stand out from the background.

I applied Gesso once again to the Leafy Twig Branches, added them to my layout and
then blended them into the background with my Shimmerz products.

My second layout today is something fun of my big boy and me!
I love the story behind this photo and the pastel colours here.

"Sweet Time"

2 Crafty Chipboard used:
Word Circles set 1
Arrow Funky
Tiny Feather Set
Frame Scallop Circle Boarders

I have used another arrow here from the Arrow Funky Set and covered it in mint paint.
I used the title Sweet from the Word Circles set # 1 , covered in Gesso and
applied mist to it once again.

I loved this heart arrow from the Arrow Funky set.  I thought it would be perfect to add
to the end of my handmade arrow.  I propped it up on a straw and gave it a coat of Gesso
and a light misting of Shimmerz.

I have layered in some frames from the Frame Scallop Circle Boarders .  I placed them
in between my paper layers and under my photo as a photo mat.  I applied Gesso and
gave it some random sprays of mist in gold and peachy tones.

Lastly I layered a feather from the Tiny Feather Set at the top end of my arrow.  I applied
some mint paint and dipped the end in some gold glitter.  I wrapped gold thread around
it to keep it in place with the other feather and straw.

Just a couple more detailed shots of the layers!

Before I go, here is another card I have made recently!  So many birthdays to get through :)  Speaking of which, it's our Masey's 3rd birthday tomorrow!!!  Would you believe it.........geez 3, such a gorgeous, cheeky little fella :)

Have a wonderful evening, I'm off to cook dinner :)

Thanks for your sweet comments,
Hugs xoxo

Dreamcatcher

Hello!!  I have a new Shimmerz and 2 Crafty layout to share today :)  I have been wanting to create a dreamcatcher within a layout for a while now and it finally came together.

 Shimmerz products used:

Dazzlerz - Sour Apple and Gummy Beary Blue
Texturez - Gold Mine and Gritty Graphite
Vibez - Egg Noggin, Jeni B Bleu and Hermit The Frog

"Dream Catcher"

Here are the 2 Crafty pieces used:

Circle Revolution Frames
Soft Feather Set
Indian Feathers
I started with the Circle Revolution Frame in the smaller size, I added Gesso to it
and some Texturez product in Gold Mine.  I had a doily which was the perfect size so
I threaded some twine all the way around so it would hold the doily in place.  I added the
handmade flower to the top of the doily along with a couple of other flowers.

I have some plastic feathers amongst them which were misted with the Vibez products.

I painted them with the Shimmerz products and applied a little glitter to some.  I wrapped
thread and Twine to them so they could be hung off the Circle Revolution Frames.
I added a few Crystals to the tops to blend in with the blue colour.

Lots of misting around and under the embellishments and paper.

The circle chipboard pieces were covered in Gesso and then I added some Gold Mine to them for some texture.

The bigger Circle Revolution Frame was layered in between my photo and paper layers.

Thanks for dropping in!  Update on my new scraproom........I am currently sitting in it typing on my computer, it's getting there, I still have a lot of tidying up to do from the old room!  But I love it, it's so pretty :)

Okay have a great day xo
